Twin Stars

OMFG, giant freaking keyblades.
This is a parody of this X/1999 picture, using Sora and Riku from Kingdom Hearts.
Colored with Rose Art colored pencils.
I decided to draw this because of a part of the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories manga, when one of the Organization members says "Sora came, so Riku followed, just like light and shadow." It reminded me of the concept of "twin stars" from X, where whatever side Kamui chooses, Fuuma has to choose the opposite. Sora and Riku's destinies seem to be intertwined in a similar way. They also have the same sort of yin and yang thing going on.

Obviously, I changed several things from the original reference picture to the final drawing. I took out most of the ribbons because I thought they were distracting, and I took out the reflecty floor because I ran out of space and didn't know how to draw it. Fuuma became Riku and Kamui became Sora. The earth became Kingdom Hearts, and the sacred swords became Way to Dawn and the Kingdom Key. And the gears just kinda floated there, because they're cool and that's how they roll. And, in order to be in the same proportions as the sacred swords, I had to make the keyblades huge. That was probably the hardest part of this drawing: Making Way to Dawn not look silly leaning on Riku's arm.
I hate Riku's face, by the way. It got all messed up.
